Dental Implants

Are you in the process of restoring your smile with dental implants? Is it time to consider replacement teeth? If so, the team at Great North Dental can help. We offer full dental implantsand dental implant restorations as part of the tooth replacement process.

HOW DO DENTAL IMPLANTS WORK?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots surgically placed into the jawbone. They serve as a strong foundation for replacement teeth, like crowns or dentures. As they integrate with the bone, they provide stability and functionality, replicating the look and function of natural teeth, restoring your smile and bite.

If you have lost one or more of your teeth, you may be a good candidate for dental implants. To get dental implants, you will first need small titanium screws surgically placed in your jawbone.

Over time, the screws heal together with the jawbone. At that point, you are ready to have replacement teeth attached to the screws. This set of procedures then leaves you with a complete smile so you can talk and eat with ease.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A DENTAL IMPLANT RESTORATION?

The dental implant restoration process occurs after you have already had the implant posts placed beneath the gum line. Our dentist near you offers dental implant restoration after the implants have healed with the jawbone, which takes four to six months.

Once the healing process is complete, the implants will provide a great foundation for replacement teeth. During the dental implant restoration, the implant posts will be exposed. This allows our dentist to place an abutment on each one.

You will then allow it to heal for one to two weeks. We can then place a dental crowndental bridge, or denture to the abutment connected during your last appointment. Then, you can begin enjoying your complete smile, restored confidence, and ease of eating and talking.
